Remember Baksan valley and Mount Elbrous...

July 1990, as the Berlin Wall fell just a few months ago and the Iron curtain is still freshly torn, .I’m invited to take part in a high altitude expedition organized by CPEA (Centre Pilote d’Escalae et d’Alpinisme) French mountain club. The mountainers : A group of very young french and russian alpinists (from 10 to 15 years old) supervised by a medical and sport team , Our Goal reach the top of the Elbrous mount (5600m). As a press photographer trained to high altitude climbing and able to practice my job in difficult circumstancies, I’ll cover, during several weeks, both medical and sport aspects of this amazing challenge.
